Meet The Gang!
| |
BALADS is run by its members and for its members by means of a committee, which are elected at the end of the spring term. You can get in touch with the committee by sending us an email.
The committee positions are:
President: Hannah Ismini Poaros
The president is pretty much what it says on the tin; president of the society. Hannah's role is to run the committee, making sure everything goes smoothly. Part of her job involves attending the regular meetings for clubs and societies that are held weekly and monthly.
Vice-President: Tommaso Covella
The vice-president is essentially an extra pair of hands for the president; he helps with all the president's decision-making, and deals with many of the responsibilites that the president might not have time for.
Treasurer: Ksenia Ermakova
The treasurer deals with the money, the whole of the money and nothing but the money. If it’s something to do with money, then it’s Ksenia's problem. She's always searching for buried treasure so watch out for your pockets...she’ll hunt you down if you don’t pay...
Secretary: Penying Rochanakul
The secretary is in charge of keeping track of all of the paper work that is demanded by the Student’s Union. She takes minutes for every committee meeting in order to keep a record of what we’re doing with the society and to monitor the progress of things and what not. If there's a job that needs doing for the society- Penny's your gal!
Team Captain: Georgina Hebron
The team captain is in charge of coordinating anything to do with competitions and the competition team. She organizes team classes and practices, sorts out entry and travel to competitions, and leads the brave soldiers in to battle. If you have a question about competitions, a worry about routines or just need a kick up the bum then Hebron is the person to go to.
Vice-Team Captain: Jordan Arthur
The second-in-command when it comes to the competition team; Jordan helps the team captain with the many responsibilities involved in running the team smoothly. Any worries about competitions or routines? Just speak to Jordan!
Social Secretary & Communications Officer: Jessie Brooks
Jessie is in charge of the society’s publicity so that everyone knows who we are and what we do etc so you'll always find her updating our website, facebook group and twittering our goings-on! Her role also involves organising awesome events for the society, informing us all about anything happening that might be of interest to anyone within the society, and taking the society into the wider community. If you have any ideas or suggestions about socials or the website then Jessie is the person to contact.
"Addicted To Salsa" Co-ordinators: Sandra Pennington & Georg Berger
If you love Salsa then they're here to organise events completely devoted to it! From weekly informal practice sessions to professional workshops, Sandra & Georg work alongside the social secretary to organise lots of Salsa socials for you.
